Saving national forests

Thanks to our federation’s work, more than 1.5 million citizens nationwide called on the Clinton administration to protect pristine areas in our national forests, resulting in the Roadless Rule. When the Bush administration attempted to overturn the rule, we worked with governors in seven states to petition to protect their forests.

New Report Says Global Warming to Bring More Extreme Weather 9/08/2010

On the heels of a summer that saw many parts of the country hit by record heat, severe storms and damaging floods, a new Environment Connecticut report documents how global warming could lead to extreme weather events becoming even more common in the future. The report also highlights recent extreme weather events that have impacted Connecticut and other states, such as this spring’s severe floods in southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island that caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damages to homes and businesses.
