Message Hi, I guess, for some people, every day is April Fools Day. Could Michelle Bachmann, the congresswoman from Minnesota, have been serious when she said this last Wednesday: "I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax [sic] because we need to fight back"? Yikes! Surely, RNC Chair Michael Steele was just kidding when he said this two weeks ago: "We are cooling. We are not warming . . . Greenland, which is now covered in ice, it was once called Greenland for a reason, right?" Good one, Michael! Joe Barton, the congressman from Texas, must have been putting us on when he told us this: "I think it's inevitable that humanity will adapt to global warming . . . Adaptation to shifts in temperature is not that difficult." I guess we'll never know until we try, Joe! All kidding aside, Rep. Henry Waxman unveiled yesterday some serious-minded legislation that will carry out the goals we share with the president.
